The story so far

Introduction

Exeter City Living has been looking at options for developing the Glasshouse Lane site to provide high quality affordable housing. In November/December 2022, we invited stakeholders, the local community and the wider public to comment on early proposals for the site.

Where are we now?

Since December, the project team has been reviewing all of the feedback received and refining the design. They have also been continuing discussions with Exeter City Council Officers.

Public engagement - June 2023

The revised proposals for the site at Glasshouse Lane were presented to the community during a second round of engagement from 14-28 June. This included an engagement event at The 100 Club on 14 June where residents and stakeholders could discuss the proposals with members of the project team.

Over 70 residents and stakeholders signed in at the event and over 80 respondents provided feedback via this website.

This round of engagement has now drawn to a close.  All feedback and comments received will be analysed and considered by the design team. We will publish responses to frequently asked questions on this website in due course.

Planning submission

We are aiming to finalise the scheme and submit a full planning application to Exeter City Council (as the local planning authority) later this Summer. The full suite of planning documents, supporting reports and surveys, including a Report of Community Involvement, will be available on the Council’s planning portal at www.exeter.gov.uk when the application has been submitted.

Once the application has been formally registered, the Council will carry out further statutory consultation and notify near neighbours about how they can respond. Subject to a planning approval we anticipate starting on site in Winter 2023/2024 with an estimated completion date of Spring 2025.
